Illinois Sportsman's Calendar

ILLINOIS ANGLERS: For up-to-date fishing reports and information for your Illinois fishing trip, call the toll-free angling hotline (800) ASK-FISH to get the Illinois fishing report, learn where to buy a license, locate places to fish, hear relevant regulations, pinpoint boat access sites, discover campground areas, find handicapped-accessible sites, and renew watercraft and snowmobile licenses.

FISHING CLUB INFORMATION
The Arlington Anglers meet at the Galyan’s Sport Store, Woodfield Shopping Center, Schaumburg on the third Tuesday of the month. Car parking and entrance are at the north entrance of the building. The meetings start at 7:00 p.m., but are encouraged to be there at 6:30 so we can greet each other and start the meeting on time. A $1.00 entrance fee entitles all members a chance at the door prizes. Guests may attend for a $3.00 fee which gives them a chance at the door prize raffle. Anglers Unlimited of Lake County, Ill. meets the first Wednesday of every month at the American Legion Hall, 111 E. Main St., Round Lake, IL, at 7:30 p.m. We are a bass fishing club that promotes fishing and fun. We have raffles at the meetings and discuss upcoming club events. We fish 10 draw tournaments from April through October in northern Illinois, and southern Wisconsin. We welcome all who are interested to attend one of our meetings. Annual dues are only $40. Blackhawk Bassmasters: We are an Illinois and National BASS Federation Nation club looking for new members; both boaters and non-boaters. We are a member run club with all decisions made as a club. The DesPlaines Lunkerbusters Fishing Club meets the second Tuesday of each month (except July) at the Prairie Lakes Community Center, 515 Thacker St., Des Plaines, Ill. The DuPage Angling Society is “the little social club with some big fishing trips.” Our get-togethers are in Downers Grove the third Sunday evening of the month. The DuPage Rivers Fly Tyers (DRiFT) meets almost every Tuesday night, September through May, at 7 p.m. at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn. Guests are always welcome. Our program includes a speaker on a fly fishing related topic or a fly tyer demonstrating a fly, and a discussion of upcoming club events such as fly casting lessons, fishing trips (8 in 2000), women’s programs, conservation activities and children’s education programs. Hawthorne Fishing Club presents its 2005 fishing trip to Moosehorn Lodge Sioux Loukout Ontario Canada. Enjoy motorcoach comfort, round trip from Cary, Ill., to Sioux Lookout, Ontario, Canada. We will leave the Chicago area (Cary) on Saturday, July 23 and return on Sunday, July 31, 2005. This year’s trip will include round trip air conditioned coach, six nights lodging with all in-camp meals, five days of guided fishing (two fishermen and a guide per boat), all bait and fuel, daily shore lunch, taxes, and license. The Ill-Mo Catfish Anglers Club meets at 7:00 p.m. the first Thursday of every month at Side Trax, Main St., Dupo, Ill. New members and visitors are always welcome. The Lake Geneva Fishing Club. We will be meeting at Gander Mountain in Kenosha (Rtes 50 & I-94). Meetings start at 6:30 p.m. If you have question you may contact Paul Beran @ 630-262-0163. We have a speaker; from members to top name pros at the monthly meetings. The cost for an annual membership is $40; there is also a family membership (husband, wife & children under 16) available for $65. Tournament entry fees are nominal and set by the chairman, we fish for fun and learning.

The Lake Shelbyville Muskie Club meets on the first Tuesday of each month at Eagle Creek Resort beginning at 7p.m. At the June 7 meeting, Mike Mounce, the INDR biologist for Lake Shelbyville will be the guest speaker. Mike will speak on the topic of fishing regulations and how they are determined, as well as comment on current lake projects. He will also respond to questions concerning fish location due to changing weather conditions, spawning, algae blooms etc. The speaker will follow a brief business portion of the meeting.

The Liberty Fishing Club meets at 7:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month at the Libertyville Township Center, 359 Merrill Ct., Libertyville, Ill. Guests are always welcome at no charge. Our dues are $50 annual, and we have a Junior Angler division for the kids. We fish all species and this year have 16 scheduled outings. A few of our destinations for 2005 include the Dells (Wisconsin River), DePere (Fox River), Geneva, Delavan, Bay de Noc, Shelbyville, and Washington Island. Little Wabash Valley Bassmaster-Effingham Area Federated Club looking for new members-boaters and non-boaters are welcome. They hold a yearly Open Tournament and weekly Thursday night tournaments for both members and non-members on Lake Sara, Effingham, Ill. They meet once a month to discuss club tournaments, area fish conservation, and youth programs. This club is for anyone interested in fishing for bass in South-Central Illinois. Maple Bass Masters of the Chicagoland Area. We are an Illinois/National bass Federation club That has been around since 1971. We focus on fun competitive fishing outings along with a learning environment. We are always willing to help. Midwest Musky Club meets the first Thursday of every month at the Village Sportsman Club, 115th St. and Laramie Avenue, Alsip, IL. at 7:30 p.m. We are a multi-species fishing club that promotes fishing education, conversation, and camaraderie. We have monthly speakers for topics from muskie fishing to panfishing, tackle education, and local experts at no charge to our guest. The Naperville Rod & Reel Club, a multi-species fishing club which concentrates on local fishing for day trips and weekends, meets on the third Tuesday of each month, at 7:00 p.m., in the Judd Kendall VFW Post 3873, 908 W. The Northrop Grumman Fishing Club meets the second Tuesday every month at the Pizza Peddlers Restaurant in Palatine, IL. New members are welcome. The club takes three trips a year to Canada (Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan) at a special club rate. The club also goes to Lake Erie, Lake Wisconsin and other lakes in Illinois. No club dues. Northwest Towns Sportsmen's Club hold their meetings the first Tuesday of the month, at 8 p.m. (September through May) at the American Legion Hall, Miner and Douglas Streets, Arlington Heights. .All outdoorsmen looking for a place to meet and talk with fellow hunters, fishermen and shooters are welcome to attend a meeting. Meetings feature speakers who share fishing tips and archery know-how, along with information about marksmanship and hunting. Club members also use the meetings to organize events, including: archer shoots and hunts, sporting clays and trap shooting, upland and big game hunting, local and Canadian fishing trips. The club also hosts events for members of their wives and children, including

Reel Team BassMasters looking for new membership—boat owners and non-boat owners. If you like fishing for bass and want to learn more about how to catch them, then this club is for you. Walleyes Unlimited USA is recognized as one of the top multi-species fishing clubs in the country. We fish for pike, muskie, large and smallmouth bass, and of course walleye. Catfish Planet—Learn about catfish through many interactive exhibits, live animals and multi-media presentations. The Lake Geneva Fishing Club will be meeting at Dick's in Schaumburg, Ill., for the month of May; we will then meet at Gander Mountain in Kenosha (Rtes 50 & I94). The cost for an annual membership is $40; there is also a family membership (husband, wife & children under 16) available for $65. Tournament entry fees are nominal and set by the
