    The key to successful jig fishing is often having the ability to know when you actually had a strike. Many strikes will be so light that you will not even detect them. If you pick your jig up off the bottom, and you seem to feel a little extra weight, set the hook. There is no other way to learn what this feels like other than experiencing it for yourself. So, stick with it until you have developed the “feel”.
